The Sierra Brava Dove Hunting Lodge

Sierra Brava is located in the north of Cordoba about 1:15 from the Cordoba airport. The lodge has eight double bedrooms with in suite bathrooms and air conditioning units. We offer groups the ability to book the whole lodge with groups of 8 or more. The estancia is a special place since it was built in 1874, but at the same time the lodge is extremely comfortable because of a massive investment that was done in the last five years. Some of the most impressive aspects of the lodge are the tall ceilings and the incredible views of a lake and the Sierras.

You will have the chance to relax in the swimming pool, calm your "hunting pains" in our sauna or have a massage by one "just one" of our 4 professional therapists. Sierra Brava has many different areas to dine and relax. Dinner is either served in a cozy, warm inside dining room or outside by our asado grill in the pool house. You can enjoy a drink at one of the lodges multiple "drinking areas". Basically you can have a whiskey, wine or beer in the living room, by the pool, at the fire pit or in a great outdoor terrace area that is hard to describe (best thing is to come and see it). The idea with all the different "drinking areas" is to enjoy time with your friends and family.

Many people joke that they would come to the lodge to eat and not shoot. The main food attraction at Sierra Brava is obviously Argentine grass-fed beef. Thankfully Cordoba is probably the best beef country in Argentina and Sierra Brava buys beef from the best butcher in town. Basically Sierra Brava pays a little extra for beef and goes through a logistical nightmare because you deserve the best Argentine beef.

The history of the lodge is very interesting. Its original name in old maps is "Posta San Carlos", which was a Pony Express ranch. The Posta or ranch was part of "El Camino Real" that connected current day Peru with Argentina aka "el Rio de la Plata". Basically the ranch was a place to eat, rest and change horses. There are several other similar ranches in the the area in Sinsacate near Jesus Maria and another one in the Macha village.
